有关2016年朝鲜餐厅13名员工集体脱北事件，《纽约时报》中文网这么说的：”13名脱北者——12名女性和一名男性主管——都出身朝鲜党政权贵家庭。” 其中12名女性从事餐厅服务员工作，组织她们脱北的男性主管则是该餐厅负责人。朝鲜利用这些餐厅给本国赚取外汇，这些餐厅也实行准军事化管理。
